karasumaakaneI was asked by Ami to make a JE cheat sheet so she could learn the names of the boys. Eiji is also beginning to dive into the wonderful world of JE and I thought this might help her keep some names straight. The purpose for this is to put a name to a face (the rest is me rambling). There was no particular listing order within each group - except KAT-TUN. Hope this helps some of you! ^.~

Arashi (嵐)
Arashi made their debute in 1999 with five members. They consist of:
Satashi Ohno (Ohno; "Riida") - the offical "leader" for the group. (Won the title by gan-ken-po on a TV show) He is the oldest member, born on 26 November 1980, and eats anything. Ohno is one of the two members who have solos in most songs.
Sho Sakurai (Sho) - is the second member who gets the most solos in group songs. Mostly due to his rapping abilites. He was born on 25 January 1982 and graduated with a degree in economics from Keio a few years back.
Masaki Aiba (Aiba) - was born 24 December 1982. Aiba is easy to spot because he is the most feminine looking member. He has some allergies and a few years back he had to have surgery for a collapsed lung.
Matsumoto Jun (Jun; MatsuJun) - is the bebe of the group (30 August 1983) and is very much a camera whore, but we love that about him. He has appeared in a number of recent doramas such as "Hana Yori Dango", "Gokusen", and "Kimi wa Petto".
Kazunari Ninomiya (Nino;Neener) - is mainly a back singer and harmonizer, but he is the most acrobatic member. Nino is also an avid guitar player and song writer. Nino also appeared in the dorama "Stand Up!" with YamaPi in 2003. Recently, he has shaved his head to appear in a TV role as a cancer patient. Born on 17 June 1983.
KAT-TUN
Koichi Domoto (of Kinki Kids) personally hand picked all six members of this group back in 2001. They were originally picked to be his personal back-up dancers, but they gained fame in their own right when they began to perform as artists. The group name (made by Koichi Domoto) is the first letter of each members last name; all together is spells how Japanese pronounce the word "cartoon". This group is officially debuting March 22, 2006.
Kamenashi Kazuya (Kame) - is the bebe of the group (23 Febuary 1986) and also one of its two most popular members. Kame was paired up with YamaPi from NEWS to make a group called "Shuuji to Akira" for the show "Nobuta. wo Produce". "Shuuji to Akira" stayed at the top of the Oricon charts for many weeks with their song "Seishun Amigo".
Akanishi Jin (Jin) - is the second most popular member of KAT-TUN. Jin appeared in a dorama with Kame called "Gokusen 2" and another dorama called "Anego" in 2005. He was born of 4 July 1984. Jin can also shake his hips better then I could in my entire lifetime.
Taguchi Junnosuke (Junno) - is the tallest member in KAT-TUN and born on 29 November 1985. Although he injured his knee in 2004 he is still known for his acrobatic stunts during performances. Junno is mostly back-up and harmonizing when it comes to singing.
Tanaka Koki (Koki) - is the offical rapper of the group. Right now his head is shaved. Koki writes his own hip-hop songs also. Born 5 November 1985.
Ueda Tatsuya (Ueda) - was born on 4 October 1983 and is a very shy person. Even though he is the appointed leader (not sure why), you will often catch him looking at the floor while singing. Ueda has a soft voice and is scrutinized for changing his style often (as shown in the picture).
Nakamaru Yuichi (Maru) - is the oldest member (4 September 1983) and can have a very deep voice when given talking lyrics in some of their songs (such as "She Said...").
NEWS
The group was formed in 2003 using the first letter of each global direction: North, East, West, and South. There were originally nine members choosen, but one member left Johnny's Entertainment for personal reasons. NEWS will be on hiatus for one year starting on May of 2006; after their spring tour and "One Piece" song debuts.
Yamashita Tomohisa (Yama; YamaP; YamaPi) - is considered the leader of NEWS. YamaPi was born on 9 April 1985. His latest works outside of NEWS is the dorama "Nobuta. wo Produce" and a two person group called "Shuuji to Akira" formed for the dorama. The other member is Kamenashi Kazuya of KAT-TUN. YamaPi is also trying to attain a degree in business.
Koyama Keiichiro (Koyama; Kei) - is the oldest member of NEWS. Easy to identify by his unique face shape and love of talking. Koyama was also involved in the Johnny's Jr. group called K.K.Kitty with Kato Shigeaki and Kusano Hironori. Born on 1 May 1984.
Kusano Hironori (Kusano; Kusa; Notti) - is the bebe of NEWS, born on 15 Febuary 1988. Because of his age, he was missing from the Johnny's New Years Countdown program in 2005. (Minors in Japan are under 18 years of age and are not allowed work late at night.) Kusa was also involved in the Johnny's Jr. group called K.K.Kitty with Kato Shigeaki and Koyama Keiichiro. Kusa's recent incident is under investigation and he has taken himself out of the public eye because of it.
Kato Shigeaki (Shige; Kato) - reminds me of the offical NEWS Ninja. His face shape changes with every haircut and dye job. Kato also looks very similar to Yuya and it is sometimes hard to tell them apart when they are running around. Kato was also involved in the Johnny's Jr. group called K.K.Kitty with Koyama Keiichiro and Kusano Hironori. As far as I know, K.K.Kitty is not together anymore. Kato was born on 11 July 1987.
Tegoshi Yuya (Tego; Tegoshi; Yuya) - is easy to spot in still photos because of his smile, but he still looks very similar to Kato. One quick way to tell them apart is that Yuya is several inches shorter than Kato. Born on 11 November 1987.
Masuda Takahisa (Massu) - is a cute ball of happiness that always seems to be smiling. XD It only seems appropriate that he was born on July 4, 1986.
Nishikido Ryo (Ryo) - is one of two NEWS members that also performs in another JE group called Kanjani8. Ryo was born on 3 November 1984.
Uchi Hiroki (Uchi) - is the second NEWS member that performs with Kanjani8. Currently Uchi is not participating in either group because he got into a little trouble with the law in 2005. Apparently, the staff at FujiTV like to take minors out for drinks and Uchi was all for it. :/ This naughty boy was born on 10 September 1986.
Moriuchi Takahiro - was the original ninth member that left the group and Johnny's Entertainment before they offically debuted.
Tackey & Tsubasa (タッキ一&翼)
This duet is made up of Johnny's own "Golden Boy" (Takki) and a personal favorite of Johnny himself (Tsubasa). Originally Takki and Tsubasa were to debut as solo artists, but Takki asked the fans to write to Johnny and request that he be paired up with Tsubasa. Johnny couldn't resist the popular reply to his request so the duet debuted in 2002 with the album "Hatachi".
Hideaki Takizawa (left; aka "Tackey" or "Takki") & Tsubasa Imai (right; Tsubasa) - are a two man JE group. Takki is considered one of the favorite Sempai's by KAT-TUN and NEWS. Tsubasa looks very feminine in this picture, but recently he has cut his hair very short (and I like it :D). Tsubasa (17 October 1981) is also slightly older than Takki (29 March 1982).

i remember when my best friend and i were just starting to get into all this, we had to get an Arashi picture and write all their names down so we could figure out who was who.
bah i know the names of two K8 members (other then Ryo and Uchi) and i only know their names because they are the two most HIDEOUS PEOPLE I HAVE EVER SEEN! >.<
by the way good cheat sheet, i almost wish i hadn't know all that so i could have learned something! ^___^
