The fun continues
Jan. 15th, 2006 06:56 pmI offically hate my school now. In the past three days, they have managed to display the most pathetic enrollment system I have ever worked with. I enrolled in four classes near the end of last semester, they have cancelled two, and I'll have to drop the third one that I enrolled in on Friday. Let me explain this with more depth.
( Round and round we go )
One good thing right now is all the JE stuff I've been downloading. They supress the urge to kill. Plus, I got a call from Ami! ^.^ I'm going to call her back after I eat with my parents. My phone died right after we hung up. Haha! XD Poor suicidal phone. *pat, pat* Not only that, but San-chan updated on her icon journal!! ♥♥ RL blows right now, LJ & JE land is love.

Hiss! Boo!
Jan. 15th, 2006 06:31 amSo I promised some pictures of the dorm, and here I deliver. It's an apartment style dorm. So there's two bedrooms (with two people in them; four total), a bathroom, sitting area, and pseudo-kitchen area. After I've moved in completely I'll post a better set of pictures.

Houston - we have a problem.
Oct. 21st, 2005 12:43 pmI am so sick of this shit!! I understand Mr. Holian wanted to inform us about issues that are affecting us today and later on in our lives, but I am sick of hearing it during class time! He started off normally talking about a book called "The European Dream" and how Europeans are very well informed compared to Americans. It was only then that he brought out the real subject of his lecture: is America on the decline? He gave an example of during this years of teaching (1988-present) he has seen a decline in the comprehension power of his students. So basically he said his students today are dumber than, o let's say five years ago. Thanks motherfucker. After basically calling us stupid, he got on the subject of why Americans don't fix the school systems if they are also declining. Europeans have very high taxes because most of it actually goes back to help people in the country. Holian kept asking for a reason why we don't fix it and I'll tell you why - when it comes to dealing with issues inside the United States, Americans are selfish bastards. That's it. We could probably help fix some of these problems if we raise taxes (and actually send the money where it's supposed to go), but most people don't want to hear about raising taxes. Some politicians won't even suggest it because it will make them look bad. I, personally, am all for raising taxes to help schools, state funds, and all that good stuff. However, the opportunity to help rarely arises because people are afraid to suggest it.
These are good issues to talk about, but not in German class. I'm paying to be educated on German language and culture, not to be lectured about how America is declining as a world power. They have other classes specifically for that. This outrage probably wouldn't be so bad, except that I got my midterm grades yesterday and I have a D in this class. I knew it wasn't going to be good, but seeing the reality on the computer screen made me hate myself. I've never gotten a D before. I'm glad this is midterm, because now my nose is going to be buried to the grindstone. I'm doing fine in my other classes - it's just that motherfucker's class I'm having a problem with. This weekend will be for Queer as Folk on Saturday and then HOMEWORK. The end.
I had to vent this or else I would blow up on a random person. Plus, I actually want to enjoy my next two classes. Novel concept, right? Oh, and the substitute for my Language Awareness class said "right?" 175 times in 65 minutes yesterday. Even though he had that quirk, I still like him better than my actual teacher for that class. He also talked about how he wrote a 17 page paper last semester about how the word 'fuck' is the most diverse word in the English language. I agree whole-heartedly.
[Side Note] Ami, after my classes today I'll take pictures of my backyard and post them for all to see.
