;_; Bad kitty!
May. 18th, 2005 04:15 amSid (my sister's cat) ate one of my sewing needles at 2AM yesterday... I mean, ATE IT!! >< What the hell in wrong with this cat? I was sewing my Stargate SG-1 patch onto my bag and I stuck the needle (with the extra thread) in my sewing kit on the floor when I was done. While I was distracted by Harry Potter (Prisoner of Azkaban movie), I saw her walk by me looking like had just eaten something nasty. This cat eats everything, so I started to look around... the needle and thread were missing.
So then we had to take the cat to the vet's, hoping she had thrown it up at some point in the night. Alas, she hadn't. We could see the needle clear as day in her lower intestines on the x-rays. My sister elected to have surgey and take it out. As opposed to hoping it will pass without damaging Sid. (I booed the waiting option, btw) Sid had surgery in the late afternoon... they got everything out and it, amazingly, didn't damage her insides too much. We'll be able to take her home on Thursday... stupid cat. ;_; *loves on the kitties*
On a happier note, I got the second part of my birthday present from Hotaru on Monday. It was a personal photobook of Ryuichi from w-inds!!! XD Not only are there a lot of current hott pictures, but there are a fair amount of pictures ranging from infancy to early teenage years! He's so cute! ♥♥♥ Thank you Hotaru!! *hugs*
Oh, Ami - if you want to keep track of what people are saying about layering contacts look here.
Only one final left... I have no motivation. Well - I take that back; I have motivation, but not for this test. The first half of my American History II final was a breeze. He took the questions from our previous quizzes and I have a photographic memory. Score! The second half is a different story because they were all new questions. Ugh. I'll be lucky if I get a C in this class... I finally turned in the pieces of my Creative Writing III contract. A miracle? Yes, definately.
Dance w-inds! DANCE! *plays video again* ;3

You know, reading those comments makes me want to do it more. I think I'll write an entry about it all. Most of the people saying not to do it are like, "Oh... That sounds like a bad idea... But I don't even wear contacts!" *facepalm* Then... shut up? *smack* I don't worry one bit about contacts drying out. My body is like moisture generation central. The only time I've ever had a problem with contacts drying out was in Orchestra when I would stop blinking out of habit as I played. I also stop breathing during long notes or runs, so I'm always a mess at that time and consider it to be a special circumstance. Being a person who has worn contact lenses for years and has worn extended wear lenses for most of those years and being a person who has worn normal lenses pretending they were extended wear lenses I know better about the lense breathing thing. Normal contact lenses don't breathe well at all which is why you have to remove them at night. My extended wear ones do have airation somehow and that's why I can theoretically get away with wearing them longer. Here's the thing: I can't tell the differance between the two. My eyes have never hurt from me wearing normal contacts for a week continuious and the results of doing so never caused my perscription to change dramatically. If anything, my time in glasses saw a bigger change! My only real concerns are the base curves being so off that they have an air bubble in between, which I find unlikly, and the thickness of the two plastic layers being harder to see through. I know from wearing colored contacts that they are larger and less clear than normal contacts. That much plastic might create a little blur (like looking through more than one layer of celophane) but for the two of us it would still be leaps and bounds above going without. I'm thinking on the earlier concern I could order a pair from this site (http://www.coastalcontacts.com/show1fproduct.cfm?formkey=050518092126&ProductCode=SFX103&ProdID=1304&Dispgroup=1&CatID=12) as they're really not that expensive and I could try out one with the layering of different ways on my contacts and you could try out just putting the other on top of one of your new contacts. I wouldn't suggest you wearing it or putting it in your eye or using a lens that has been in your eye as that would be like sharing a toothbrush, but to put the two new lenses on top of each other just to see how flat they will be when stacked, you know?

Date: 2005-05-19 07:46 pm (UTC)I'm buying the contacts eventually, regardless if I'll be able to layer them or not. So, no toothbrush sharing worries there.
One of the people that replied was talking about how they combined the contacts in their hand (pushing out the air bubbles), then placed it in the eye. We might give that approach a try.
