So the power supply in my computer fried on Friday. Yeah, it's pretty interesting. While transfering stuff to Ami's computer the USB harddrive flipped out, so I decided to take them home. When I came back the computer was on, the screen was asleep, and it wouldn't shut off. So I spend five minutes or so trying to restart it, but it finally shut off on its own and has been asleep since. When I tried to turn it on the next day, it made a weird sound like a car trying to start with the battery dying. So I called James in and we deduced that the 330 power supply couldn't handle the 64 processor. He ordered a 450 and will install it on Monday.

I found out some interesting things because of this:
1) I'm an internet junkie. I'm currently using my other computer that is setup and sprawled all over the floor. I wish I could take a picture of it for you guys, but my digital camera is MIA at the moment.
2) I can get a lot done without the internet. Before I collapsed and setup my other computer I read three manga, watched Mirage of Blaze (13 episodes), and cleaned the house. -.-'
3) Something is up with my new computer. I was able to upload new icons to my lj through this computer, so some odd setting must be off on the new one. Rawr.

Okay, so after collecting all four DVDs through various conventions I finally sat down and watched Mirage of Blaze. I have to say that it caught my attention, but there were a lot of things I could have down without.

I haven't investigated yet, but I think the original magna-ka's story line was very in depth and interwoven. I say this because I they gave a whole lot of information, but never dove too deep into any of it. Anime creators have done this before - like with Yami no Matsuei. Picture if you will, the original storyline as a fabulously delicious cake, but when they give you your serving (making the anime) they just scraped some of the top off and slap it onto your plate. No very pretty or filling, to me anyways.

The series was released in the U.S. by a company that is known for supporting anime with yaoi in it, AnimeWorks. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed in their idea of yaoi regarding this series. Although the main characters clearly have issues and a long, long standing past, the potential of a relationship between those two is repeatedly shot down. I do have to give the anime director some credit, I am thirsty for more.

Trying to watch the series in the beginning was a little hard. Not only was there a lot of information thrown at you, but the voice actors of the two main characters (Takaya and Naoe) sounded really, really, really, REALLY familiar. Near the end of the first DVD I figured out that the seiyuu for Takaya was also Riki from Ai no Kusabi, Iruka from Naruto, Watari from Yami no Matsuei, Duo Maxwell in Gundam Wing, and Legato Bluesummers from Trigun. *pant* The seiyuu for Naoe was also Muraki from Yami no Matsuei, Raoul from Ai no Kusabi, Nanjo Koji from Bronze/Zetsuai, and Wolfwood from Trigun. *drool* I sometimes caught myself with my eyes closed just listening to their silken voices penetrating my ears. Ahhh, the power of sound. Side note: If I was a shinobi in Naruto I would probably be from the Hidden Village of Sound. Boo on Orochimaru, yeah for sexy seiyuus!

..... *pause to play "Identify that Seiyuu!"* ...... 0.0 I just realized that I talked to the voice actor that does Ritsu Sohma from Fruits Basket and Jean Havoc from FMA at Ohayocon 5.... *dies* I still can't believe that Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket is also Lust in FMA. Quite diverse in her abilities, isn't she?

Anyways, back to Mirage of Blaze. I have to say this: the opening theme song is crap. C-R-A-P, crap. While listening to the opening music I thought about putting a needle through my eye, but I pressed the 'next chapter' button instead. As bad as the opening was, the closing makes up for the damages. It's a very nice, mellow classical piece that tugged on the heart strings a little bit. ;_; Earlier I stated they gave a whole lot of information, but because of that I got confused a little at some parts and I can only remember about a third of the characters names. Plus, some of the characters had two names: one for the current body, another for the Possessor. It got a little confusing. The animation is very nice and it has thick outlines around a lot of the characters, but it makes it a little unique that way.

Now I need to read some fanfiction - pretend like they got together in the series. U.U

I guess I should resize and post some of those w-inds scans I did a while back. The [info]j_k_pop_scans community has basically been dead for a while, but a few people still live. So I think I should help with the revival. I can still upload stuff with this computer so I better do it now.

Man, I love my new icons! <333 *slinks off to resize stuff*

Ah, the redundancy of backup plans. If my current computer dies, I can still go online with my previous one. Failing that, I'd have to resort to using my Dreamcast (at least it has a keyboard). Failing that, I'd be going back to my first means of connectivity: a Sega Saturn with the NetLink modem, with no keyboard. (That, and being a 28.8 modem, make it the worst-case scenario solution...)

That's where I work! I'm the person who gets to stand behind the guys looking at pictures of naked women touching themselves in order to intimidate them to go home and look at porn.

^_^

You work there?

Like I said, my kind of library... that'd give me an actual incentive to go...

Oh, the woes of dying computers and internet addiction. I'd go stir crazy without, that's why I have three computers. One of them has to work (yeah, I know I'm weird :P)

LJ ate my comment that I was to post. Recap:

1) I made a skin of Endou Yoshihito from the Sasuke base to apologise for giving you my computer bad luck.
2) I can't find Hotaru, but would you guys want to help me with a sewing project tonight/tomorrow?
3) Internet and computer loss got you down? Welcome to my fucking life. *kicks her laptop* Only two months to go before I can spend all the rest of my money on this piece of shit.
