Dubbed Sasuke rocks my face off!

karasumaakaneI have been requested by a few people to update more. So here we go!
My German instructor, once again, has made a fool of himself. Last Friday he went on a tangent about American Politics and Wednesday he drabbled on about how Amercians don't recycle as much as we should. Honestly, I'm getting tired of this. I enrolled in this class to learn able German language and culture, not to hear someone drone on about... whatever he feels like. That's what a current issue course is for! And I discovered that I am a genius. We are reading Hamlet in my Reading Text class and apparently I am the only person (besides the teacher) who knows how to read and understand Shakespeare. Come on! It's not that hard - there are footnotes and all that helpful stuff too! Oiy.
Midterms are coming up soon and apparently my school likes to gives students a day off to study. Which is stupid, but I had no classes on Friday. Yeah! I wanted to catch up on Naruto, but after prioritizing other things came first. Such as laundry and ridding the TiVo of all the crap I've been recording. Although I didn't catch up on the latest Naruto episodes, I watched a few of the dubbed episodes that are now airing. Most of the voice actors pronunciation of names and techniques make me cringe! Since when was "Naruto" pronunced "Nurudo"?? And suddenly "Uchiha" becomes "Ocheeaw"? Uuuugh! Speaking of the voice actors, I took notes on who sounded good and bad:
Good (aka didn't make me cringe):
- Sasuke (AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!)
- Kakashi
- Iruka
- Ino (just the right amount of annoying)
- Chouji
- Konohamaru
- Hinata (a short usage, but sounded like her)
Bad (aka did make me cringe):
- Naruto (missing spunk and sounded like a 50 yr old smoker)
- Sakura (too high - I wanted to stab my ears with a spoon)
- The third Hokage (didn't sound 'old man-ish')
- Shikamaru (sounded like a sk8er instead of a stoner)
Sasuke's English voice actor is my absolute favorite. Not only did he sound like Sasuke (broading superior complex with a dash of emo), but he was the only one to pronunce the names correctly! I wanted to kiss him!! I give credit to the dubbers for keeping in words like hokage, jounin, genin, jutsu, and sensei. However, they get negative points for taking out the NaruSasu kiss scene, bastardizing name pronunciations, fucking up the OP/ED, and translating Sasuke's fireball technique into English when he uses it. I think that was a huge mistake. They had an exclaimation of suprise by Kakashi that took waaay too long and then Sasuke made a sound like he was blowing out a candle instead of a roaring fireball. Plus, if they had kept it untranslated during the attack it would have been more impressive and seem mystical. Maybe I'm just bias because I love the way "Katon Goukakyuu No Jutsu!" sounds instead of "Fireball Technique!" (or whatever the hell he says). Most likely.
I also got my fanfiction fix by reading Let It Be Me. It's IruKaka! Yup, you heard right kids! Iruka finally gets to be seme in this short little fanfic and it's awesome. Not only that, but Iruka makes seduction Kakashi his personal mission called "Operation Seduce Sexy Jounin Kakashi"!
Speaking of yaoi, I bought some rare cards of my favorite yaoi couple not too long ago. I also scanned them before letting Ami borrow my scanner, so I'll share them with you. The rares are about the size of credit cards and made of translucent plastic, so the texture in the scans are really wonky. It was the best I could do.

I think Sandaime sounds like a skeezy biker they found in a bar, he creeped me out. I'm kinda glad Yondaime doesn't speak until kami-sama knows when; with luck, I'll never hear them screw him up.
